Shelton's Grading Guidance

Grading Guidance

SSD Grading Guidance - Spring 2020

Shelton School District has revised our grading guidance for the spring trimester of 2020. Using Governor Inslee and Superintendent Reykdal’s charge of “Do No Harm” as our guiding principle, we have made the following adjustments.

Grades K-6: Students will only receive comments on the end of year report cards. Reading level will not be reported at this time.

Grade 7: Teachers will use standards based grading scores of 1-4 for the end of year report cards. Students may only improve upon the scores they had prior to March 17th.

Grade 8: Teachers will use the grading scale of A-C, and Incomplete for the end of year report cards. Students may only improve upon the scores they had prior to March 17th. Algebra I is an exception due to it being credit bearing.

Grade 8, Algebra I: Teachers will use the grading scale of A-C, and Incomplete based on trimester 3. Students with INC will need to finish by Aug 31, 2020. We will use credit recovery through FuelEd during summer school.

Grades 9-12: Teachers will use the grading scale of A-C, and Incomplete based on trimester 3 classes. Students with INC will need to finish by Aug 31, 2020. We will use credit recovery through FuelEd during summer school.

Stay safe, stay healthy.
